This site was created as a celebration of the beauty found in the natural world. It is my hope these images will, in some small way, inspire others to experience nature on an intimate level.
The greatest gift photography has given me is a reason to spend large amounts of time in the wilderness. I value the time I spend taking photographs more than the images I record. Over the years my equipment has evolved to the use of large format "view" cameras. The slow, contemplative, approach view cameras require enhance the photographic experience. The true value is found in the experience of nature not in the accomplishment of taking a great picture.
As a Photographer attempting to create "Fine Art" Landscapes, I have no problem in declaring my allegiance to the world of color. In the not too distant past, color photography was dismissed as being too representative, lacking the artistic content of Black & White images. Color Photography was said to be best suited for family snapshots and the like. I would like to suggest that color photography has matured both technically and artistically and is now a very valid form of "Fine Art".
