| How to use your Angle Calculator: | ||
The
front face, marked miter angles in degrees, is the side of the
tool used for finding miter angles. Simply loosen the
thumbscrew, open the tool to fit around the outside or fit into
the area being checked for miter angle. Once the outer body of
the tool and the blade are making contact with the two surfaces,
tighten the thumb screw. The "M" (miter) on the inner
blade will line up with a degree on the outer circle. This is
the miter angle you need to cut the material to. |
||
|
No math involved. |
||
Convert
a plumb cut in degrees into a seat cut, also in degrees, or into
a miter cut for those degrees.
The inner blade is designed to be used in two ways. One is by using the pivot end to find degrees. The other is used as a sliding tee bevel and a ruler, marked in 16ths of an inch. This can be used for setting saw depths, marking out window sills, scribing cut lines, etc. |
||
The side marked "M" (miter) must match the outer
body of the tool marked miter angles in degrees for accurate
readings. On the other side of the blade is a conversion chart
for converting roof pitches into degrees, for both commons, hip
and valley rafters. This side must be used with the side marked
Whole Angles. The inner blade has three marks around the radius
end. These are "S" (seat) and "P" (plumb) on
one side. These marks are at right angles to each other. The
other side is marked "M" (miter).
