I just became a new owner of a '90 PC800. I always wanted a PC, but always
chose to own a more classic looking motorcycle. I currently own a 2002
Yamaha Roadstar Silverado with more chrome than I care to think about.
I enjoy riding to work, but had trouble carrying all my work gear( police
officer). Also hated the thought of cleaning all that chrome after being
caught in the rain, or combination of morning dew and road grime.
I was trying to think of a name for the PC and came up with a couple of
names that seemed generic. After bringing the bike home, I was showing
my 15yr old son the bike and all its features, like the trunk under the
seat. Also the PC has an am/fm cassette, and a CB radio installed.
While showing him the trunk and the radio was playing some hip-hop music
to his liking, my son looked at me with a smile and said "yo dad thats
phat".
Being the cool dad that I think I am I decided to name my PC800 the "Phat
Cat 800".
