From Eureka take US101N to CA299; CA299E to Weaverville; CA3S through Hayfork to CA36; CA36W to US101; US101N to Eureka.

For this ride, you should fill up before you leave.  Then stop for gas in Weaverville (last one for a while) and, if you wish, lunch.
