Legal Assistance Options for Northern California Veterans

Recently, we have found it necessary to help our Veterans find legal assistance. We have had such an overwhelming response to our request for help, I thought it might help others to list those resources.
This list is not meant to reflect an endorsement, nor a request by the parties for advertising. I’m merely listing the information to help any other Veterans who might need legal assistance. |

The National Veterans Foundation—888-777-4443. they have a national network of service providers that include legal assistance. This organization has been providing a national too-free crisis management, information and referral hotline for veterans and their families since 1985.

I am the homeless veterans housing program manager at the Sacramento Veterans Resource Center, 7270 E. Southgate Drive, Sacramento, CA 95823. 916-393-VETS. Veterans can come in and schedule an appointment with our case management team. Check in with Jan at the front desk in Building #2. Veterans should bring copies of their DD214’s with them. If we can’t solve it, we will find someone who will. This is a free service we offer to all veterans. Our normal operating hours are M-F, 0800—1600. The Sacramento Works has a program for free legal assistance every third Friday. The legal adviser is there at 10:00 am and he takes the first 7-8 people only as walk-ins. Sacramento Works 10381 Old Placerville Road Mather, CA 916-225-3255.
