Legal Assistance Options for

Northern California Veterans

July 22, 2008

Recently, we have found it necessary to help our Veterans find legal assistance.  We have had such an overwhelming response to our request for help, I thought it might help others to list those resources.

This list is not meant to reflect an endorsement, nor a request by the parties for advertising.  I’m merely listing the information to help any other Veterans who might need legal assistance.

I know of county bar associations and some local legal aid, such as Bay Area Legal Aid

I am the homeless veterans housing program manager at the Sacramento Veterans Resource Center, 7270 E. Southgate Drive, Sacramento, CA 95823.  916-393-VETS.  Veterans can come in and schedule an appointment with our case management team.  Check in with Jan at the front desk in Building #2.  Veterans should bring copies of their DD214’s with them.  If we can’t solve it, we will find someone who will.  This is a free service we offer to all veterans.  Our normal operating hours are M-F, 0800—1600.   Jeff Gottlob, PGR, VFW Life Member, USMC (retired)
