Juanita De Luna, VA Volunteer Services Director,

Retires After 41 Years of Service to our Veterans

Look at that beautiful smile!!  (L) Juanita De Luna receives gifts from Soldiers’ Angels Kim Paragoris (R) at her recent retirement party.  Juanita’s effervescent smile has not diminished in 41 years of service to our Veterans! 

 

When she took over the Volunteer Services group for the Northern California Healthcare System, there were only two people and a handful of volunteers.  Through her tireless efforts and good cheer, Juanita has built the organization up to include partnerships with more than two dozen organizations and hundreds of volunteers. 

Soldiers’ Angels was honored to present Juanita with a blanket, cookbook and personal letter of thanks from our founder, Patti Patton-Bader.

 

We have enjoyed working with Juanita who has always moved heaven and earth to improve the lives of the men and women she serves.  Whenever Soldiers’ Angels has had a request, whether it be to host a large group of Angels to visit the patients at Mather or a Basket of Thanks for a homeless Veteran, Juanita always made sure it was taken care of right away with cheerful efficiency.

 

She will be greatly missed, but we all wish her much happiness in her well-deserved retirement.
