What a Beginning!
Angels, you made our beginning in 2007 a huge success! Here’s a short list of just a few of the things we accomplished since we began our group just three months ago! · House of Dignity distribution to homeless vets · Thanksgiving Basket of Thanks distribution to wounded vets · Launched Basket of Thanks drive · Special support for the Hearn Family · Support for Welcome Homes and funerals/memorials · Attended 8 events to solicit support for Soldiers’ Angels · 4 Stand Downs · Monthly visits to VA hospitals in Northern California · Support from local area companies for our Basket of Thanks drive: · KBLX · Ferguson Enterprises, Inc. · Carol Sellwood—ReMax Realty · JR Roberts · Patriot Guard Riders
Right now, all of our attention is on the election, recovering from recent storms and raising our families. But this holiday season, people from all over Northern California took action to make a real difference in the lives of our local wounded and homeless Veterans because of your efforts, Angels.
In the last three months of 2007, we asked you to support our work and many Angels did, raising a total of more than $5,000 worth of donations that we distributed in the projects listed above. Angels like you are helping to do extraordinary things for our Veterans.
Your continued contributions to our Basket of Thanks drive will give us the ability to offer our Northern California wounded and homeless Veterans the support and care they need… to continue visiting the VA hospitals to personally thank them for their service and our freedom.
Your support matters. Every pair of socks, toothbrush, pajamas, game, or contribution to purchase a Basket of Thanks, every dollar, makes a difference. Please download our donation form and pass it along to five of your friends with a personal request to support our heroes.
Thank you for being involved, for loving our Veterans, and doing so much to support them. Happy New Year! Louise Stanley Sacramento VA Team Leader Soldiers’ Angels
