Thanks, Angels, for the Giants’ games… (2)

August 9, 2008

You remember that the San Francisco Giants gave 450 baseball tickets to Soldiers’ Angels founder, Patti Bader-Patton.  In turn, she gave them to our group for our Northern California Veterans…  We distributed the tickets for nine different games to many veteran groups.  We also included transportation to and from the game by bus, a Soldiers’ Angels t-shirt and money for a snack…  along of course with our thanks for all they have given to us.

A group of our finest from the Martinez VA Continuing Care & Recreational Therapy area received 50 tickets for a Saturday afternoon game against the Milwaukee Brewers.   This outing was the single largest gift they have ever received there and the Veterans just loved their trip; they didn’t want to leave the ballpark when the game ended!

They wanted to let you all know how much they appreciated your gift…

“Dear Friends,

Allow me to take this moment to thank you for all your concern and efforts to help our fellow vets.  Your recent outing to SF was the talk of the CREC!  I must admit that until being admitted I didn’t think much about my fellow vets but the love and compassion your organization puts forth has motivated my wife and I both to help my brothers and sisters in the future.
