What I've Been Up To
I've been getting a number of emails from people asking why I haven't been updating the site, particularly the journal of a work in progress. The reason why is, I'm sure you'll all agree, well worth it.
A few months ago I was approached by an investor who wanted to provide the financial backing for me to start my dream business, a historical pattern company. Needless to say I leaped at the opportunity. This required that I spend most of my available time working on a detailed business plan and the negotiations for the agreement. There just wasn't a free minute left to work on costumes or websites.
We are currently at the handshake agreement stage (well, actually we hugged on it; we're women, after all) and with any luck, I'll be starting the developement phase early in the New Year. I hope to debut the first pattern in late 2000.
I'll be starting with a line of extensively detailed and researched Elizabethan patterns, and later will branch out into other eras. I'm very excited to have this opportunity to serve the costume community and further the state of the art.
Update
I've decided on a name! It will be Margo Anderson's Historic Costume Patterns. I'll be setting up a website for the company in a month or two; watch this page for further information.

This drawing of me was a gift from my 6 year old son. He's looking forward to my making lots of money, which he expects me to spend on Legos and trips to Disneyland. | |
