| SHOW AND SALE |
| The Show and Sale is an annual event in which members volunteer their time and talents to share their interests with the community. During this two day event, the public is invited to a gallery of work by Guild members. Guild members prepare items to show keeping the theme in mind.
An event chairperson is appointed by the president during the summer. The chairperson selects a theme for the Show and Sale and asks the membership for assistance in various segments such as demonstrations, managing the raffle, organizing the spinning display and demonstration area, the children's area, hostesses to greet members of the public, and setup. The show is set up by members of the Guild to show off the creations of it's members. Weaving, basketmaking, spinning and beadwork demonstrations are usually ongoing. One of the most popular events is the raffle where the members as well as the community vie to win the donations. Members are asked to donate handspun or handwoven items to the Guild for raffle at the event. This is a wonderful opportunity for members of the public to benefit from our skill and expertise. |

| This year's theme is "Nature's Beauty All Around Us". Many plans are in place, and members are sharing their ideas and talents. We will have demonstrations, displays and hands-on projects. There will again be sales of members' created pieces. Set up will be Friday, February 8, 2007.
As you are thinking of items for display, also start thinking of the raffle and what you may have that would make a great raffle prize. The raffle is very popular and a great moneymaker for the Guild - last year the raffle raised over $900 for Guild programs. Kate and Will Taylor, this year's Raffle Chair, need your help and your generous donations. |
