The Sacramento Weavers' and Spinners' Guild encourages growth in the art of weaving, spinning and dyeing, by means of interchange of ideas, research and contact with experts in the field. The Guild presents members with the opportunity to meet and share through meetings, workshops and lectures.

Guild Meetings are held at the Shepard Garden and Art Center, 3330 McKinley Blvd, Sacramento, CA, 10:00 a.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month, September through May, except December. The meetings begin with Guild business, then proceed to an educational program. Bring your lunch; coffee and cookies are provided. After lunch, we return to the presentation by the featured speaker, which may include a hands-on portion.

The next meeting is February 23, 2010 with Susan McGehee who will be lecture on weaving with wire and metals. Susan's wall hangings are woven in traditional patterns on a sixteen harness dobby loom attached to a computer.

The Guild Newsletter is published monthly, September to May (except December). Submissions must be made by the 5th of the month. Classified ad rates are $2 for members and $4 for nonmembers. For information please contact the Newsletter Editor, Susan von Sosten.

Guild Membership is open to any person interested in advancing the Guild and its purposes. All levels of expertise in weaving or spinning are welcome to the Guild. Guests are welcome to attend meetings; a $3 donation is appreciated.

Yearly dues of $35 are payable in May for the following year. For members joining in February or later, dues are $17.50. For information on joining the Guild please contact the Membership Chair, Cheryl Sutherland.
